I discovered my passion for writing and editing at an early age. I always connected deeply with English and Literature classes from the time I was in Elementary School. As a child, reading fiction novels became one of my favorite pastimes. Now, as an adult, my love of fiction novels has expanded to include other genres and rhetorical pieces. Most of my free time is spent with my nose in a book or clicking away on a keyboard!

I attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to earn my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Cybersecurity. Even though I initially chose an educational path that did not include studying fiction novels, I was still able to nurture my love of literature and rhetoric by mixing Honors and Political Science classes into my course load. I left my undergraduate studies with a great handle on business, rhetorical, and analytical writing.

I began my career as a Sales Administrator, working for a company in St. Louis. I often wrote and edited contracts which were delivered to and signed by customers of the company. I eventually made my way to being a Cybersecurity Analyst and Technical Writer for SKB Cyber, a small technology startup based out of Peoria, IL. Now, I am leaping headfirst into the world of freelance writing, copywriting, editing, and proofreading. What an exciting road I’ve traveled on! I am so excited to see what will come next.

I intend to begin working towards my master’s degree in English Literature at SIUE in 2026.
